EVERYTHING in the park is accessible to middle-school-age youth. The Corn Maze is a great place to start, but then they will explore the Bamboo Maze, Fun Zone, Labyrinth, Miner Max Maze, Perilous Planks and more.
The Pedal Kart track is a huge favorite as kids power themselves around on four-wheeled karts. Gemstone Mining, where adventurers get to keep the minerals they find, is another big hit as the kids discover real gems from a bag of dirt.
With a Group at Maize Quest and Maple Lawn Farms
Tough to find engaging field trips for middle-school students? The Maze Fun Park is the perfect combination of education and fun that connects with tweens. Exploring the maze is a big challenge and one that requires teamwork. There's a lot to do in the maze. With a decision or game stations every 25 yards, the youth stay focused on the scavenger hunt. Watch the video below for more information!
Older middle school classes may choose the Geocaching Adventure in which they explore more of the farm with Global Positioning units. Schools often choose Gemstone Mining as a way to jump-start students mineral collections for Earth Science classes.
We host thousands of school-age youth each year during our summer and fall harvest seasons. During the summer months, we specialize in tours and fun excursions for YMCA & YWCA camps, sports camps, day camps, scout groups, mom's groups, and more. Over 20 attractions are open for our guests including our snack bar and picnic pavilion. Then cool down in the Mist Maze!
Meet State Academic Standards!
Maize Quest Educational Programs help teachers meet state guidelines. Download our Teacher's Packet, below, for more information. This packet provides some lesson starters for different grade levels based on the state educational guidelines. We took these guidelines and applied them to our attractions. We open our farm to student visitors because we believe there is nothing more important today than an understand of our food system
